At Barra Oliba we respect your privacy. This page explains what information we collect when you visit barraoliba.com, what we use it for, and what you can do about it.

What we collect
What you give us. If you use the contact form, we store your name, your email, your phone number if you enter one, the event date if you are asking about an event, and the message you send. There is no other form on the site: we do not sell online and we do not create user accounts.
What browsing generates. Our server and our measurement tools record technical data such as your approximate IP address, the browser and device you use, the pages you view, and where you came to the site from.
What we use it for
- Answering your enquiry or your event request.
- Understanding which pages get visited and how the site is used, so we can improve it.
- Measuring how our advertising performs and showing ads to people with similar interests.
- Protecting the contact form from automated spam.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use two kinds, and they are not the same thing.
Necessary. They keep your session, remember whether you prefer the site in English or Spanish, and protect the forms against fraudulent submission. The site does not work without them. We also store your cookie choice in your browser local storage so we do not ask you again on every page.
Measurement and advertising. These load through Google Tag Manager and include Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads. They only run if you accept them in the notice shown on your first visit. If you decline, the site works exactly the same.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site data in your browser: the notice will come back and you can choose again.
Third-party services
Some parts of the site are provided by Google, and those services receive data directly from your browser:
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, to measure site usage and advertising. Only with your consent.
- Google Maps, which renders the map on the contact page.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which tells people apart from bots and loads on every page to protect the form.
When you press the reservation button we send you to OpenTable, which is a separate company. From that point on, the OpenTable privacy policy applies, not ours.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. The advertising tools described above do involve sharing your browser identifiers with Google for behavioral advertising, which is what California law calls sharing. That is why you can decline them in the cookie notice, and declining is how you exercise the right to opt out of sharing here.
Beyond that, we give access only to the providers we need in order to run the site, meaning hosting and email, and to authorities when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept for as long as they are useful for answering your enquiry and keeping a record of our conversations with guests. Measurement data is kept according to the retention periods configured in Google Analytics. If you want your message deleted, write to us.
Your rights if you live in California
The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us not to share it for advertising. You also have the right not to be treated worse for exercising any of these rights.

Security
The site is always served encrypted over HTTPS and the forms are protected against submission from other sites. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable measures to protect what you entrust to us.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. We will announce significant changes on the site.
